Diesinger DRGM 154927 German Beer Stein High Relief Hunter #594 c. Description: This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger between 1901 and 1910.
Diesinger is one of the most collectible beer stein manufacturers. His designs are unique and hard to confuse with anything else.
They are considered by some collectors as "quintessentially German". Adolph Diesinger - the owner of the factory - was at the same time the artist who created these designs - very close to "naive art" to the point of being kitschy.
Made in "raised relief" technique, this stein is showing a humorous figure of an amateurish hunter who missed and scared away the birds. The figure of the hunter is protruding from the body of the stein in a sculptural manner. A side picture shows a man watching the birds through the spyglass. Marked with "Gesetzlich Geschutzt" patent mark and the patent number "DRGM 15492 7".
This patent number was taken by A. Diesinger in 1901 and was in use u ntil 1910.The mold number is 594. The stein is large and impressive, standing 12 tall to the top of the thumblift, 1L capacity. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.
