It was the Kayser company's aim, through its use of the methods of mass production, to make artistically designed, contemporary Jugenstil objects of daily use (such as candlesticks, ashtrays, lamps, beakers, vases, tea and coffee sets) accessible to a broad selection of the public. The pitcher shows a very stylish relief floral ornaments representing the traditional hops and barley very much in Art Nouveau style.

The pitcher is iin good condition. There are some minor dings and scratches due to the softness of the pewter, but no major damage or repairs. It is large and impressive 12.5 tall to the top of the thumblift.
