Antique German Blown Glass Beer Stein Stone Cut Red Inlay c. A classical German glass beer stein from the period of the late 1850s - early 1860s. Blown crystal glass with applied thick handle snapped at the lower end. Snapped pontil mark on the bottom. Stone-cut vertical facets with round tops creating beautiful optical effect. Beautiful pewter lid with red glass inlay, the feather shaped thumblift, and large closed type five-ring hinge very typical for the 1850s. The lid is engraved with the original owner's name - C. A true antique art object.
Nice beer drinking vessel about 170 years old! 6.25 tall to the top of the thumblift, about 0.5 L capacity.
