Antique Mettlach Villeroy and Boch Beer Stein #1526/590 PUG c. Made of pottery in PUG (print under glaze) technique unique to Mettlach. The stein depicts a scene at the tavern with a gentleman in Renaissance closes playing a guitar to the barmaid holding a serving beer stein. Bin alleweil lusti, und all'weil fidel. I sauf gern, i rauf gern, und mach gern Krakehl.

Marked with V&B stamped brown underglazed mark with 590 decoration number, incised 1526 mold number - this mold was mostly used for PUG beer steins, - and 95 year mark for the year of 1895. Number 26 is the quality control number.

The stein in excellent condition with minimal age wear. The lid is sitting tight. It is 6.5 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
